Good afternoon, beauties! We would like to add a little sparkle to your day by showing you this cozy Fall wedding shot by Kristin Griffith Photography. We don’t know what we love more, the blooming floral arrangements, or the fact that they incorporated black into their color palette! Either way, this wedding was absolutely breathtaking in every aspect.
From Kristin Griffin Photography:
Some grooms meet their match and know right away that she’s the one. Some couples start as friends and end up dating. For Ashley and Justin, it was love at second sight. “(Justin) said he did not like me when he first met me. We met at Scioli’s Pizza Bar in Milford, MA, where I (Ashley) was working. In my defense, he came into the restaurant on a very busy night! Fortunately, a few weeks later he came back and we started chatting.” That was when the sparks started flying. Ashley and Justin chose a black and white theme for their wedding because in Ashley’s words, “if you look in my closet, that’s all I wear! I think it looks classy and it looks great on everyone!” “The day Justin proposed was absolutely magical. We went away to Maine for Fourth of July weekend. It was actually on the Fourth of July when he asked. We decided to go out to dinner and the restaurant didn’t have anything open until an hour later, and he got kind of annoyed. Looking back he did seem anxious (he was nervous he later told me). So we walked around the boardwalk, and I remember saying to him that I didn’t think there would be fireworks tonight because the forecast called for thunderstorms and the clouds were pitch black. We made out way back to the restaurant, The Landmark in Old Orchard Beach, and had dinner. The waiter brought the dessert menu, and as I was looking at it Justin said ‘I have something better than dessert for you.’ I looked at him, and saw something shiny sitting on the table, and he asked me to marry him. Of course, I started to cry and hyperventilate a little, and I said yes! The waiter brought us champagne and announced it to the entire restaurant, so everyone cheered with us! Fireworks! Literally, fireworks, they started going off as we sipped our champagne. It was perfect!” Planning the wedding was a little stressful for Ashley. “While I asked for Justin’s opinion on everything, he would always say ‘do whatever you want.’ He just wanted me to be happy! Thank goodness for my mother and my bridesmaids who helped me plan all the details!” Sometimes, it takes a village. Given Ashley’s Portuguese heritage, they knew they had to have great food and dancing at the wedding. They hired a DJ to play both current pop hits and traditional Portuguese music. Justin paid homage to his Armenian roots by working in a few Armenian dances as well. “It was great seeing both cultures involved and trying new dances,” says Ashley. With such a large extended family, their guest list grew. “I think I have been to every HomeGoods store in Massachusetts searching for baroque style frames for the 30 table numbers,” says this crafty bride. “I spray painted them all black, and my father made the escort card holder out of plywood and fabric. My mother and aunts ironed over 400 chair covers, which we borrowed from my cousin’s wedding! What a project!” Ashley involved her family a lot in the wedding planning. “I have a big family, so I asked all my married cousins for advice.” The best gem: “Find a few minutes on your wedding day to be alone with your husband. Take some time to revel in the fact that you are now husband and wife.”
