Fruits and vegetables are essential when it comes to obtaining and maintaining beautiful skin for your wedding. For example, the beta carotene in carrots becomes vitamin A in the body, which fights against aging, and gives the skin that gorgeous glow. Fruits have remarkable effects on your skin as well. Oranges, papayas, guavas, and blueberries are a select few of the hundreds of fruit that pack a powerful punch of vitamin C- which is essential to heal and rid yourself of acne. Being the busy bride that you are doesn’t always allow time to stop and much on a carrot, or slice up a papaya. So, what is the easiest alternative? Juices. I have found that the best time to make my juice is right before bed, that way it’s nice and cold by the time the sun rises. Plus, I don’t have to add more hassle to my morning by chopping up the fruit and putting it through a juicer, just shake it up and go! So, if you want radiant skin for your big day, follow these delicious recipes that we concocted just for you!
Clear Your Skin
Ingredients:
7 regular-sized carrots
1 small orange
1 large apple
Directions
- Before juicing, make sure that you slice the carrot into long, thin strips, slice the apple in regular wedges, and peel and separate the orange.
- After that, place the ingredients in the juicer, and there you have it!
The secret to having flawless and healthy skin. We suggest this for any bride-to-be with oily, acne prone skin. The amount of vitamin C and vitamin A conquer toxins in the body, and help to heal skin. This juice is one of my favorites due to its flavor, it is not too sweet, yet it does not taste like straight up veggies.
Awaken Your Skin
Ingredients:
1 beet root
1 medium sweet potato
10 regular-sized carrots
Directions
- Before juicing, make sure that you slice the carrot into long, thin strips, slice the sweet potato in cubes, and peel and chop the beet.
- After that, place the ingredients in the juicer, and there you have it!
It is not sweet and it might even be repelling, but the payoff is gorgeous skin. The beet works hard to supply skin cells with the proper nutrients, while the sweet potato works its versatile magic. Sweet potatoes are noted for their skin benefits, not only do they fix oily skin, they get rid of bags and puffiness around the eyes. This is ideal for the excited, yet sleepless bride because of its anti-puff properties. Another major plus of this juice is the metabolism-boost! A lack of sleep leads to a slowed metabolism which ultimately can lead to a wedding dress that no longer fits. When I was a student, I would load up on this juice during finals. All of those sleepless nights that I spent studying were never visible, and I never gained a pound of stress weight!
Moisturize Your Skin
Ingredients:
2 peaches
2 large apples
10 regular-sized carrots
1 large orange
½ of a lemon
Directions
- Before juicing, make sure that prep the fruit and veggies.
- After that, place the ingredients in the juicer, and there you have it!
Life is peachy when your skin looks flawless, especially when peaches help your skin become flawless! The amount of vitamins A and C help deliver moisture to the skin, which gives off a hydrated, dewy look. The levels of Selenium in this juice also help clear clogged pores, which leads to impeccable skin! We love this recipe for a bride with dryer skin, or a bride who is getting married in a drier environment than what she is accustomed to. I advise pairing this juice with a fabulous moisturizer to get hydrated, and remain hydrated all day long. I personally do not have dry skin, but I do have days when I experience dry skin- especially when I visit large urban areas due to the pollution, and this remains my go-to method for curing the “city skin blues”.
So, if you are (or have been) experiencing any type of skin problem prior to your ceremony, don’t pull a Gus Portokalos and just “put some Windex on it”, drink your way to beauty! And don’t forget to stay hydrated on your big day.
