I adore the engagement and proposal story of Britnye & Philip, you don’t meet many guys who are true romantics but Philip definitely fits the bill. This couple is so cute together and they love they have for each other shine through in their amazing engagement photos by Jillian Tree Photography.
What was your favorite memory from your proposal?
Philip had a poem he had written in high school for his future wife that he read to me. I loved every cheesy word but more importantly the heart that rested behind it.
The Proposal from Britnye:
It was so romantic. Philip came over early that morning to bring me breakfast and told me to get ready for an “adventure”. A message series we had just finished partially talked about components of a healthy relationship and how to create common likes. I tend to play it safe but had been willing to dive into the unknown so when he first came over, I didn’t think anything of our surprise adventure. Accompanying breakfast were roses and a small card. Inside the card awaited a riddle to find out what happened next! The first riddle led us to our church where we first met in the lobby. Waiting there was another little card with rose petals around it. The rest of the riddles led us to other places we had gone together that were significant in our relationship (all with rose petals and sweet, creative riddle cards): our first lunch together, our first real date, etc. The last card led us to the Jupiter Lighthouse where I had been asking to go! We went on the lighthouse tour with a group of people but at the top I suddenly realized we were all alone! He got down on one knee and proposed! The end, right? The surprises didn’t stop there. After church the next day we were going to, what I thought was, a birthday lunch for his sister which was actually a surprise engagement party for us. He had coordinated everything with my family so they could fly in to celebrate with us.
