We are loving the down home country wedding of Kathryn & Josh. This wedding was phenomenal! The sunset that day was gorgeous which allowed for some amazing shots of this couple and bridal party! These two truely were so in love and had a great time from start to finish! They both attended NC State University and wanted to share that with their guests. The venue was perfect!
From the bride:
Josh and I met on an online dating website in January 2012. We both went to college at North Carolina State University. Our years attending the school overlapped a couple of years, in 2000 and 2001. We hung out at the same spots off of Hillsborough Street and attended the same college events. After graduating school, Josh moved to Colorado and I continued to live and work in Raleigh. When Josh returned to Raleigh, he moved into my neighborhood. We lived about two blocks from each other and shared the same neighborhood pool for a couple of years. However, we never crossed paths until we finally met each other on Eharmony. It was crazy to find out how close in proximity we were to each other for all those years, but had never met each other. We are both so grateful that we met each other when the timing was right for both of us. and groom.
Getting Ready:
The Engagement:
On our first date, we met up for drinks in North Hills and watched the NC State basketball game together. We dated for a little over a year before Josh proposed. It was a beautiful spring day. Josh was supposed to be heading out of town for the weekend. Little did I know that he was plotting with my sister a surprise proposal. My sister called me on Thursday and asked me if I would like to meet her and my nephews at Duke Botanical Gardens on Friday afternoon. Since Josh was going to be out of town, I didn’t have any prior plans and I said yes. Plus, I rarely turn down an opportunity to hang out with my family, especially my nephews. As we entered the gardens, Josh appeared out of the blue. I said “What is Josh doing here?” He ran straight to me with the ring in his hand, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. I was so overwhelmed with emotion that I started to get down on my knees so that I could give Josh a hug. We both stood up and hugged each other and then I said “Yes, yes, yes, a million times Yes” as he put the ring on my finger. His best friend, Chris, and future Best Man, recorded the whole thing on his cell phone. He even recorded my nephew saying “Oh, that’s why we’re here!” It was hilarious.
