Bringing a little bit of yourself into your engagement session is a way to show who you are as a couple to the world, and a trek through Hanging Rock State Park and ends with a romantic scene amidst a gorgeous waterfall is a good way to express your love of the outdoors. Emily and Dustins beautiful engagement session was captured by Shanna of Shanna Duffy Photography.
This engagement session perfectly expresses the theme the couple chose for their wedding they opted for an intimate fall wedding last October at the Harmon House in Kernersville NC.
Congrats on the wedding go out to the happy couple!
How did you meet?
Dusty and I met when I was in high school. Dusty was playing in a band with some of his friends, and I went to watch them one night. We’ve been together ever since then! 8 years and counting!
How did he propose?
I couldn’t have asked for a more romantic proposal! It was my birthday weekend, and Dusty told me his family wanted to take family photos at the park. So we got all dressed up, and were on our way. At the park, there was a picnic table with a birthday cake, candles, and balloons! I was so surprised and happy he went though the trouble for my birthday. After eating cake we were walking around the park, dusty said “there’s one more thing I got for your birthday”. When I turned around, Dusty was on one knee! I cried like a baby but of course I said yes immediately!
What were your wedding plans?
We got married October 19, 2013 at the Harmon House in Kernersville NC. Our wedding was fall inspired, with purple and orange as our colors. It was a small ceremony with 40 people who attended. It was short, sweet, and the best day of our lives!
